What is meant by Gurukulam?

The word gurukulam is a combination of the Sanskrit words guru ('teacher' or 'master') and kula ('family' or 'home'). The term is also used today to refer to residential monasteries or schools operated by Traditional and modern gurus.

The main focus of Gurukuls was on imparting learning to the students in a natural surrounding where the shisyas lived with each other with brotherhood, humanity, love, and discipline. What is the concept of Agastya Gurukulm?

It is based on the belief that the guru is the source of knowledge and the students should be in close proximity to the guru in order to receive the best education. The curriculum in Agastya Gurukulam typically includes subjects such as kalaripayattu, marma science,  Vedic literature, Sanskrit, astrology mathematics, and other traditional Indian sciences.

What do we study in Agastya Gurukulm?

The whole Agastya Gurukulm system was based on experiential learning and was practice based in Kalaripayattu with subjects such as Traditional astronomy, Traditional medicine, Traditional philosophy, religion, yoga, physical education, and defense studies as its major components.
